My fellow Americans: Our long national nightmare is over, because as of tonight, football is back!
I’m very happy football is back, but I’ll be the first to admit things don’t look good this season for my beloved Cowboys. I have them going 6-10, and I think I’m being generous here.
Quite frankly, I don’t see them winning anything until Jerry Jones is long gone. Then (and only then) maybe one of his kids will use common sense and hire a decent general manager and head coach. Until that day arrives, I’ll be crying in a corner.
As for my Super Bowl prediction, I think its gonna be the Seattle Seahawks against the New England Patriots. Its been ten years since the Pats won a Super Bowl, and Tom Brady ain’t getting younger. If they’re gonna win again, it needs to happen this season.
Week one kicks off tonight with the defending Super Bowl champs Seahawks taking on the Green Bay Packers. This is the first time the Packers will play at the scene of the Fail Mary two years ago. Not only is this a chance for redemption for Green Bay, but it would mean knocking off the champions at home.
Thankfully, this game is on NBC, but starting next week we’ll have to endure Jim Nantz and Phil Simms. If I’m in therapy by week 7, you’ll know why.
Anywho, since our favorite pastime is here again, it is time for my very trusty, sure to be wrong NFL picks! And away we go…
