Sorry for the lack of posting lately, but there’s a couple of good reasons for it. First, the wifey was off for most of the holidays so I took a few days off myself to spend time with her. Second (and most importantly) there was a death in the family over the weekend.
I don’t feel like going into details now, but I would like to say thanks to my family back home who took care of my mom and aunt while I couldn’t be there. Also, big thanks to my fellow Nerd Laneit who kept my spirits up and kept me laughing during a tough weekend.
Anywho, things should get back to normal in a few days. And because humor has always helped me deal with things, I leave you with a few things you should know:
* “The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies” took the top spot for the third straight week, adding $21.9 million. To date, the goofy little hobbit has earned $220.8 million domestically and another $502 million overseas.
Seriously, with box office numbers like that, how long before Warners announces “The Hobbit: This time its Personal”?
* I thought I knew everything about the Dallas Cowboys. But yesterday I learned something new: The Kool-Aid Man is a Dallas fan.
I guess he can say goodbye to Michigan’s electoral votes.
*Here’s something else I learned this weekend, this time about comic books: As it turns out (not counting the multiple copies of X-Men #1) Laneit has better comics than me.
and I had over 26,000 comics at one point. I guess it’s about quality, not quantity. But one thing he doesn’t have is a mint copy of Adventures of Bob Hope #2.
*And last, but certainly not least: Starting this summer, TNU’s Furiated can be seen on select Disney Cruises playing Gaston
