Like most of the country this morning, I’m exhausted and a bit hung over from last night’s big game. I’m also a bit depressed thanks to that horrible Nationwide commercial about the lil kid.
Hard to believe anyone at the insurance company thought that ad was a good idea during the Super Bowl. Guess later today there’s gonna be an opening in Nationwide’s marketing division.
On the bright side of things, my Super Bowl pick was correct, barely so, but correct. Anyways, some people still went to the movies this weekend, and here are a few things I thought you should know:
“American Sniper” easily took the number one spot at the box office for the third weekend in a row with $31.9 million. Meanwhile the three new wide releases flopped hard with less than $18 million combined. In other words, people who went to the movies saw “American Sniper” and nothing else.
In other news J.Lo’s “The Boy Next Door” fell a whopping 59 percent to an estimated $6.09 million, which brings its total to an itty bitty $24.7 million. Aww, poor Jennifer Lopez.
Your top five worst play calls this weekend:
1. “American Sniper,” $31.9 million.
2. “Paddington,” $8.5 million.
3. “Project Almanac,” $8.5 million.
4. “Black or White,” $6.5 million.
5. “The Boy Next Door,” $6.1 million.
