I love the smell of comic books in the morning!
Yes kids, convention season is in full swing already with C2E2 and Wonder Con already in the history books. Meanwhile, my personal Con adventures will kick-off this weekend with the 3rd annual SC Comicon.
This show seems to get bigger every year, and this year is gonna be huge for me. Sure, I plan on buying hundreds and hundreds of comics, catching up with a couple of my favorite cosplayers, and I’m hopefully meeting Helen Slater (the original Supergirl). But what I’m most excite about this year, is meeting comic folk like:
George Perez, Greg Capullo, Frank Cho, Neal Adams, Ron Marz, Bart Sears, Andy Smith, Randy Green, Paul Jenkins, Joe Pruett, and Steve Epting. And those are just the ones I can remember! If I’m able to meet them all, I should have some pretty cool signed stuff to decorate my office with.
So that’s this weekend, and I have a few other conventions planned for the rest of the spring/summer. My survival pack is ready with bags and boards, sharpies, bottled water, and a snack. This may seem extreme to some, but after 24 years of attending conventions, you learn a thing or two (sometimes the hard way).
