Hello dear reader, I finally figured out how I’m going to break down these podcast posts, The Top 5, then I’m going to break the rest up by category. Hopefully you find a new podcast or two to check out, that’s my goal here. Ready? Here we go!
1. Pointless with Kevin Periera
You should know of Kevin from the show on G4 “Attack of the Show”, that was my introduction to him at any rate. Or, maybe you know him from Tru TV’s “Hack My Life”. Kevin started the podcast partnered with Brian Redban then broke off on his own and started his own media empire, Super Creative (watch out Hardwick!).
It’s an “interview style” podcast, they’re typically recorded live on Twitch if you would like to interact with Kevin and the guest.
There are currently 102 episodes available for download. I highly recommend the episode where Kevin talks about his trip to Peru and the experience with Ayahuasca.

2. This is Rad!
I know of Kyle Clark from listening to The Nerdist Podcast (more on that one later), you can usually hear him laughing in the background, he’s also a standup comedian (buy his album here) Matthew Burnside I know from when he did “A Walk on the Burnside” with The Indoor Kids (again, more on that one later).
Kyle, Matt and occasionally Producer Natalie (Nate Hazey to the cool kids) will have guests on to discuss topics that they find Rad, from Ska to Board Games, The Land Before Time to Power Rangers. The show is often derailed, but not in a bad way, going down rabbit holes is fun!
There are currently 106 episodes available for download. I highly recommend the episode where they play the game The Resistance (a game I now highly enjoy)

Josh and Jon are dads, they’re brothers, this is The Dad Bros Show! They record shows twice a week, you can join in the fun at DadBros.tv Sunday and Tuesday nights at 9:30 pm EST.
At times there are guests in studio, most times its Josh and Jon talking about different topics in the news, or other parenting tips. Let’s not forget about the Dad Bros Drink of the Show! For each show there is a beverage they drink throughout and give a review after the break.
It’s a great show, especially if you like to interact and be a part of it. When you listen you’ll hear them talking to those in the live chat, sadly of late I haven’t been able to be in the chat, but I’m still talking to them via Twitter while I listen to the show. As a newer father (my son is two and a half) it’s also helpful to hear about some of the things other people have gone through!
There are 126 episodes available for download. Though a bit “heavier” in tone I recommend the episode they did shortly after the Paris attacks.

I know of Shawn Marek from back when he was producing Chris Gore’s Podcrash podcast (you guessed it, more on that later!), I didn’t know who Jen Stansfield was until I started listening to this podcast.
I’ve followed Shawn on Twitter for a while, when I was all caught up on my podcasts at the time and found out he had a podcast, I clicked subscribe and went through the back catalogue!
Every week Jen and Shawn cover two issues (typically a Marvel and a DC book) from the Worst Collection Ever, theirs! They love dollar bin books and listening to their commentary on the issues is hysterical.
There are currently 85 episodes available for download. I highly recommend their Batman V Superman Review episode!

Jamey Jasta is the lead singer of the band Hatebreed. On his podcast he interviews musicians, MMA fighters, comedians. One of the coolest things about the show is when Jasta is talking to another world touring musician and their story takes place in another country like Russia or Brazil instead of most interviews where everyone is talking about LA or New York.
Some episodes get real “inside baseball” and a favorite saying of mine can be heard “I probably shouldn’t be saying this on the podcast”.
The Jasta Show just went to a subscription based model ($2.50 a month over at Gas Digital Network, that’s a hell of a deal!). The archive of 170 episodes is now behind a paywall, but the eight most recent episodes will always be available on iTunes.
You should check out his interview with Dez Fafara before the episode ends up behind the paywall! I would still recommend giving the $2.50 a month to help support the podcast going forward!
