Welcome back! I hope you’re enjoying some new podcasts. I’ve got four more from Across the Pond for you. Now all nine of these podcasts wouldn’t be on my radar if it wasn’t for Adam Cook from God is a Geek because through him I discovered GiaG and then from there it branched out to people for GiaG doing their own podcasts or recommending others. That’s what these last four are, if it wasn’t for Rich (@revatar) from We’re not Wizards I wouldn’t know about them, so, thanks Rich!
First up is the Staying In podcast (only nine episodes so far, a great time to jump in and catch up!) a pop culture centric conversation about things from Wrestling to Game of Thrones, Marvel movies to D&D.
Lapsed Gamer Radio is a great podcast whether you’re a lapsed gamer or consider yourself a “hardcore” gamer. I fall somewhere in the middle. I game somewhat regularly (on Xbox), but still find the podcast enjoyable, I mean I can’t play every game. The LGR community has a “let’s play” where they’ll all play a game over the course of a couple months (giving people time to play) and then talk about it. At the time of posting they’re playing the Telltale Game: A Wolf Among Us (based on the Fables comic series, both are SO GOOD!).
Lee (@countfosco) from the LGR crew informed me that he also had a Movie podcast, right up my alley! I’m still in the process of getting current, still have 30 episodes to go. One of my favorite things so far is when they do a “Top 10 of” episode (be warned they go an average of 4 hours). I enjoy going back and making the lists, so far I’ve heard the Top 10 of 2010, 2011 & 2012. Good times (they don’t record a new episode every week, so don’t worry!)
Last (but by NO means least) The Secret History of Hollywood podcast, wow. I have to thank Cevin (@Cevni) of LGR for recommending this beast. I say “beast” lovingly, there are “only” nine episodes, but the shortest episode still clocks in just over 2 hours, while the longest is a staggering 9 hours. It is a DEEP dive into Hollywood, think if it as an audio documentary. I quite enjoyed the Alfred Hitchcock series, three episodes totaling over 18 hours. If this sounds like your kind of thing, check it out for sure!
Ok, that does it for my “Across the Pond” recommendations (for now!) I hope you subscribe and enjoy!
Let’s have a conversation!
