With nothing major on our agenda this holiday weekend, the wifey and I decided to take another trip down to our friendly neighborhood flea market on Saturday morning.
The last time we took in the sights at this particular flea market, I came home with some Transformers and a ton of comics. This time, I still got a few comics like: a few Power of the Atom issues from DC, and a stack of Ghost comics from Dark Horse.
One guy was even selling boxes filled with Wizard magazines for cheap, but I already have most of them. Anywho, My favorite buys of the day turned out to be a couple of toys, and some dvds.
Our first stop of the day was with older lady selling a mix of homemade cookies, toys, and trading cards. The one toy that caught my eye was a Usagi Yojimbo action figure. The toy didn’t have any accessories, but it seemed to be in good shape. Total cost? $1.00.
After a breakfast biscuit at one of the market’s food places, it was off to the used dvd guy. Here I discovered a small stack of Doctor Who dvds. He even had the mos recent season, but at $60, it was a little steep for me. He was also selling the last black & white story, “The War Games,” which made me happy… until I saw he wanted 80 bucks for it.
However, I did grab some classic Who stories, like “The web of Fear,” “The Moonbase, “srarring Patrick Troughton, and “The Claws of Axos” with Jon Pertwee. The grand total for the dvds? $18.00.
And finally, on our way out of the flea market, my wifey spotted a guy setting up his table, and he had a couple of comic boxes. This is where I got the Atom and Ghost comics, but the man was also selling a few toys, and I grabbed a Wildrider Transformers action figure for only 50 cents. But perhaps the day’s biggest bargain came in the form of a 1989 Batmobile for only $3.00.
All in all, I’d say this was a pretty decent trip to ye olde flea market.
