Last night was a rough one for me. No matter what I tried, I just couldn’t fall asleep. It was one of those times when you’re too tired to sleep if you know what I mean.
I finally got up around 1:30, and after reading for a while, I decided to hook up my old N64 system and played a few games of Major League Baseball Featuring Ken Griffey Jr., I even played some GoldenEye later on.
After some old school gaming that included me throwing the controller at the tv, I decided to see what (if anything) was on Netflix and Amazon. After searching for a bit, i settled on the first season of “ThunderCats” which is available on Amazon. I chose “ThunderCats” for two reasons:
1. I was a big fan of this show when I was a kid, but I haven’t watched it in over twenty years.
2. Even though I was a fan, it occurred to me that I had never watched “ThunderCats” from the beginning.
As the old guy said the Last Crusade: “He chose poorly.” The he in this case being me, because I now regret choosing “ThunderCats” last night. Once again one of my childhood favorites has been ruined.
As I mentioned earlier, until last night I had never seen the first episode of “ThunderCats.” So you could say I was a little confused when I saw all the Thundercats were naked for the entire episode. I mean everyone: grandpa, Lion-O, all the way down to WilyKit and WilyKat.
I know it’s a stupid thing, but I just couldn’t get past this. It was bizarre to say the least. Even if this was a normal thing for the Cats, then why did they have uniforms on earth? And why oh why was Lion-O such a whiny brat?
Oh well, I still have my memories I suppose. And I think I still have some of the toys in a bin somewhere. Although my mother never got me the Cats HQ like I wanted, but that is neither here nor there. All I know is tat next time I can’t sleep, I’ll stick to my N64.
